STRAWBERRY PEAK

Mountain Biking Trails

JOSEPHINE PEAK TRAIL - Elevation change: 1960 ft.
This Forest Service road climbs up from Clear Creek Station. At a junction, the eastern branch goes to Josephine Saddle with connections to Strawberry Peak trails and Colby Canyon Trail. The western branch of the junction goes to Josephine Peak.
Trailhead: The trailhead is located at the junction of Angeles Crest Highway and Angeles Forest Highway (Clear Creek Station).

RED BOX - SWITZER TRAIL
This is a fun short trail that is a section of the Gabriellino trail. It is high enough to be above the smog but is not an excessive drive. The upper end is at Red Box Gap, a saddle where the turnoff to Mount Wilson is located. The lower end is at the Switzer Picnic area, a shady picnic spot on the Arroyo Seco Creek. The trail continues beyond both of these ends. It is used primarily by hikers and mountain bikers. There are several rocky areas that can make mountain bikers dismount or challenge them to stay on their bikes. Mountain bikers tend to do this trail as a loop, riding up the road to the upper trailhead and cruising down the trail.
Trailhead: The lower trailhead is located at the Switzer Picnic Area on the Angeles Crest Highway just beyond the turnoff for the Angeles Forest Highway. The upper trailhead is further up the Angeles Crest Highway at the turnoff for Mount Wilson which is located in Red Box Gap.

STRAWBERRY PEAK CIRCUIT TRAIL
This is a relatively long trail that circles around the north side of Strawberry Peak.
Trailhead: The western end starts from Josephine Saddle. The eastern end starts at Red Box
