Mountain Biking Trails

CRESENTA VALLEY PARK TRAIL
There are two sections to this trail. A dirt road goes west from the park area (from the end of Cedarbend Drive) and a path goes through the park ending up on New York Drive. The dirt road has several steep sections. And the path in the park has several trail off of it winding up into the hill.
Trailhead: The western end of the dirt road is on La Tuna canyon just south of the 210 freeway. This is a popular trailhead. However, most people head up towards the top of the mountain. This road is the left (straight) one at the first junction at the end of the pavement.
The eastern end of the road is at the end of Cedarbend Drive near Cresenta Valley Park.
The trail goes through the park from El Lado Drive to New York Drive.

LA TUNA CANYON MOUNTAINWAY - Elevation Change: 1417 ft
This is a popular hiking and biking dirt road up the Verdugo Mountains starting from La Tuna Canyon. Bicyclists often make a loop using the La Tuna Canyon Trail.
Trailhead: La Tuna Canyon just south of the 210 Freeway. It starts out paved but quickly turns into dirt.

LA TUNA CANYON TRAIL - Elevation Change: 950 ft
This is a popular trail climbing to the crest of the Verdugo Mountains. It can be made into a loop with the La Tuna Canyon Mountainway starting by the La Tuna Canyon exit off of the 210 Freeway.
Trailhead: The trailhead is on La Tuna Canyon road a mile south of the 210 Freeway exit at a small pullout.

STOUGH CANYON MOUNTAINWAY - Elevation Change: 550 ft
This is a dirt road that leads from Burbank to the crest of the Verdugo Mountains starting near the municipal golf course. If you are adventurous you can cross over the Verdugo mountains using the La Tuna Canyon Trail, and of course a street shuttle.
Trailhead: The trail starts by the De Bell Municipal Golf Course, at the top of Walnut Ave.

VERDUGO CRESTLINE DRIVE - Elevation Change 560 ft
This is a dirt road that follows a low ridge line just south of Tujunga/Sunland. Near the eastern end it passes a cross on a rounded peak.
Trailhead: The eastern end is off of Hillhaven Avenue. The western end is nead the corner of Day St. and Sherman Grove Ave.

VERDUGO MOUNTAINWAY - Elevation Change: 1900 ft
This is a dirt road that follows the crest of the Verdugo Mountains providing views of San Fernando Valley and downtown Los Angeles.
Trailhead: The western trailhead is off of Edmore Place in Sun Valley. The eastern trailhead is off of Beaudry Blvd in Glendale. Many other trails feed into this one.

VILLAGE SCHOOL TRAIL - Elevation Change: 650 ft
This is a path across grassy slopes leading up to the Verdugo Mountainway dirt road.
Trailhead: The traihead is located at the end of Village Ave in Sun Valley.

WHITTING WOODS MOUNTAINWAY - Elevation Change: 1600 ft
This is a little used dirt road climbing to the crest of the Verdugo Mountains. It makes a nice loop with La Tuna Canyon Trail
Trailhead: The dirt road starts at the end of Whitting Woods Road off of Honolulu Ave.
