Bee Canyon Ridge Route
This is a route that follows the ridge line east of Bee Canyon.
It follows faint deer trails. It starts from the loop trail in
O'Melveny Park. Near the north end of the loop look for a faint
trail up to the ridge line. This faint trail continues up the
ridge. There are steep, loose sections, and you need to be sure
of foot. It provides beautiful views of Bee Canyon and also views
of the Sunshine Canyon Landfill. It actually follows the property
line of the landfill. The route eventually reaches a dirt road
on top of the main ridge. This is the Weldon Canyon Mountainway.
It can be taken down to the right to make a through trip to The
Old Road in Newhall Pass. To the left the road encounters a locked
gate.
Trailhead: O'Melveny Park on Sesnon Blvd. in Granada Hills.
