A level equestrian trail that curves around the Griffith Park
Equestrian Center.
Trailhead: The Griffith Park Equestrian Center along Riverside
Drive in Burbank

CONDOR TRAIL - Length: 1 miles; Elevation Change: 160 ft
A dirt road running from the Mineral Wells Picnic Area to the
Skyline Trail
Trailhead: The trailhead is at Mineral Wells Picnic Area
with additional access from Skyline trail.
LOS ANGELES RIVER TRAIL - Elevation Change: Level
This is a paved and lighted path along the banks of the Los Angeles
River. The river in this area does not have a concrete bottom
so it contains trees and attracts a variety of birds.
Trailhead: There are trailheads at Riverside Drive and
Los Feliz.
MAIN TRAIL - Length: 3.25 miles; Elevation Change: 200
ft
A level trail along the northern and eastern sides of Griffith
Park. This trail makes a nice level loop with Crystal Springs
Trail or hilly loops with other trails.
Trailhead: The trail is accessible from the Los Angeles
Zoo parking area, from the northern section of the Zoo Drive,
or from Crystal Springs Trail.
MT HOLLYWOOD DRIVE - Length: 3 miles; Elevation Change:
600 ft
A paved road, closed to cars, crossing over the top of Griffith
Park. It connects Griffith Park Drive on the north with Vermont
Canyon near the observatory on the south.
Trailhead: Vermont Canyon Drive near the observatory, and
Griffith Park Drive between the zoo and Forest Lawn.
OAK CANYON TRAIL - Length: 1.25 miles; Elevation Change:
240 ft
A dirt road with a gentle slope that follows the Oak Canyon Drive.
Trailhead: Many places along Oak Canyon Drive.
POLLYWOG TRAIL - Length: 0.5 miles; Elevation Change:

This is an easy level equestrian trail along the Los Angeles River
starting from the Griffith Park Equestrian Center at Mariposa
St.
Trailhead: This trail is accessible from Mariposa St off
of Riverside Drive.
RATTLESNAKE TRAIL - Length: 0.75 miles; Elevation Change:
400 ft
A dirt road that climbs over the ridge from Zoo Drive on the north
to Oak Canyon Drive on the south.
Trailhead: Zoo Drive or Oak Canyon Drive
RIVER TRAIL - Length: 0.75 miles; Elevation Change:
Level
A level equestrian trail that is partially paved along the Los
Angeles River. It runs from Riverside drive to Forest Lawn Drive.
Trailhead: The trail is accessible from Riverside Drive
at the Los Angeles River, Mariposa St, and Forest Lawn Drive.
SKYLINE TRAIL - Length: 2.25 miles; Elevation Change:
440 ft
A dirt road that climbs along a ridge from Zoo Drive on the east
to Oak Can yon Drive on the west.
Trailhead: Zoo Drive or Oak Canyon Drive
SUICIDE TRAIL - Length: 0.5 miles; Elevation Change:
300 ft
A steep loose foot path that climbs the hillside from Oak Canyon
Trail to Toyon Trail.
Trailhead: Accessible from Oak Canyon Drive, the closed
to cars Mt. Hollywood Drive, and Toyon Trail
TOYON TRAIL - Length: 1.0 miles; Elevation Change: 200
ft
A dirt road that climbs the hill above the closed Toyon Landfill.
It connects Oak Canyon Trail with Hollywood Trail.
Trailhead: This trail is accessible from Oak Canyon Drive;
the closed to cars, Mt. Hollywood Drive, and Hollywood Trail.
