FALL CANYON ROAD - Length: 14 miles. Elevation change:
3200 ft.
This is a powerline/forest service road, 3N27, that goes through
the upper reaches of Mill Creek and down a ridge line and through
Big Tujunga Creek. It connects Mendenhall Ridge to Big Tujunga
Canyon Road through a remote and isolated stretch of mountains.
A campground is located above Big Tujunga Creek, approximately
2 miles from the Big Tujunga Road.
Trail head: The lower trailhead is on Big Tujunga Canyon
Road approximately 1 mile from Angeles Forest Highway. The upper
trailhead is on Mendenhall Ridge Road by the turnoff for the County
Juvenile Detention Center.
FALL CREEK TRAIL - Length: 3 miles. Elevation change:
600 ft.
This is a neglected trail connecting Hidden Springs on the Angeles
Forest Highway to Fall Canyon Road just above Big Tujunga Creek.
Trail head: A quarter mile north of the Hidden Springs
store along the Angeles Forest Highway. The other end of the trail
joins Fall Canyon Road two miles from its trailhead on Big Tujunga
Canyon Road.
